The itinerary, distances and elevations may vary slightly for numerous reasons beyond our control including weather and terrain conditions.

Please be also aware that a self guided trekking tour involves your own responsibility in the itinerary you will choose and the the choices you will take on the trails. We will provide road book, GPS tracking system with an emergency call in case but since we'll be hiking everyday on your own, we can not be responsible on the decision and facts that may happen during your trekking. 

Day 1 : Les Houches – Les Contamines (France)

Here you are ! Starting your trip in Les Houches, at the bottom of Bellevue cable car, you will take the lift up (lift fee included) to the famous Mont-Blanc route, the starting point of your tour.

From there, you will hike beneath Bionnassay Glacier to Col du Tricot and his magnicient views of Les Contamines-Montjoie valley. Then, you start your descent to the Chalets de Miage first and to the village of Les Contamines where you’ll spend the night.

Elevation gain : 640 m/ Elevation loss : 1 282 m / Hiking distance : approximately : 10,9 km

Day 2 : Les Contamines – Les Chapieux (France)

Today your hike starts from Les Contamines Montjoie to the chapel at Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge, where the tarmac road ends. From the chapel, continue to Refuge Nant Borrant and Refuge de Balme and then continue towards the Col du Bonhomme (a great lunch spot!).

In the afternoon, you’ll descend to the hamlet of Les Chapieux where you’ll spend the night.

Elevation gain : 1 364 m/ Elevation loss : 975 m / Hiking distance : approximately : 19 km

Day 3 : Les Chapieux (France) – Courmayeur (Italy)

The path today leads you out of France and into Italy !

You start your hike from Ville des Glaciers towards the Col de la Seigne, where you reach the Italian border. The pass itself enjoys a perfect view of Mont Blanc's wild and remote west face.

From there, you’ll hike down to La Visaille (Val Veny) at the end of Miage Glacier where you will take a local bus to the alpine village of Courmayeur. You'll have time to enjoy the town with a dinner on your own. 

Elevation gain : 1 143 m/ Elevation loss : 1 472 m / Hiking distance : approximately : 15 km

Day 4 : Courmayeur (Italy) – Champex (Switzerland)

This morning, you will take the public bus to Arnouva (Val Ferret), the starting point of your hike. The path leads you to Rifugio Elena, enjoy a last Espresso there before hiking to Grand Col Ferret, the Swiss border. The view from here is stunning : turn around and take one last look at the Italian side of your Tour du Mont-Blanc. Then, you’ll hike down to the village of La Fouly, where you’ll take a local bus to Champex, the village where you’ll spend the night.

Elevation gain : 871 m/ Elevation loss : 962 m / Hiking distance : approximately : 17,5 km

Day 5 : Champex – Trient (Switzerland)

From Champex, you will continue to enjoy this picturesque area beginning with an hour and a half of easy hiking along the "Bovine Route" that herders once used to guide their stock across the mountains. Continuing across the rolling terrain, you enjoy views of the rocky Dents du Midi and ascend through the forest to lookouts high over the lovely Rhone Valley and the town of Martigny. Then, you will hike down to the Col de Forclaz and your accommodation in Trient.

Elevation gain : 807 m / Elevation loss : 750 m / Hiking distance : approximately : 13,4 km

Day 6 : Trient (Switzerland) – Chamonix (France)

Your final hiking day leads you back to France !

From Trient, you will hike to Col de Balme, the border between Switzerland and France. Admire the phenomenal views to Mont Blanc before beginning an easy descent to Montroc. From there, you’ll have to take a local bus to Chamonix. End of the trip.

The following transfers are not included in the price, you should allow about 40€ for these transfers.

Day 1 : Optional transfer from La Frasse to Les Contamines Montjoie (local bus)

Day 2 : Optional transfer from Les Contamines Montjoie to Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge (local bus)

Day 3 : Transfer from Les Chapieux to Ville des Glaciers (local bus or taxi)

             Transfer from La Visaille to the village of Courmayeur (local bus or taxi)

Day 4 : Transfer from Courmayeur to Arnouva (local bus or taxi)

             Transfer from La Fouly to Champex via Orsières (local bus)

Day 6 : Optional transfer from Montroc to Chamonix (local bus or train)
